Welcome to my blog. I trust you will enjoy your visit and am delighted you decided to stop by.

I've had hundreds of articles and photographs published in major newspapers and magazines, in around 55 countries. I am the author of three traditionally published (paper and ink) books, the best-known of which is Days of the Generals, (published by Zebra Publishing, a division of Penguin/Random House) that is now in its eighth reprint.

Digital publishing has liberated me and allowed me to embark on a sort-of 'kitchen-table' publishing operation that is both intensely exciting and terrifying.

I've been married to Joy for 35 years (I'm starting to think it might work!) and have two adult sons.
